Chipotle Serrano Ribeye Steaks for Your Summer Cookout

When it comes to summer grilling, there’s nothing quite like a perfectly cooked ribeye steak. Juicy, smoky, and packed with bold flavor, this recipe is all about keeping it simple—while letting Big Horn's delicious ingredients do the heavy lifting. Whether you’re hosting the neighborhood BBQ or just treating yourself to a weekend steak night, these Chipotle Serrano Ribeye Steaks are the showstoppers your grill’s been waiting for.

We’re talking thick-cut ribeyes soaking up a spicy-sweet marinade made with Big Horn’s Chipotle Olive Oil and Serrano Honey Balsamic Vinegar, finished off with a sprinkle of hickory smoked sea salt. That’s it. No fuss, just big, bold flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ribeye steaks, about 8 oz. each

  • ½ cup Big Horn Chipotle Olive Oil – smoky with just the right kick

  • ½ cup Big Horn Serrano Honey Balsamic Vinegar – spicy-sweet magic

  • 1 tablespoon hickory smoked sea salt – to add that backyard BBQ vibe

Instructions:

1. Mix the magic.
In a small bowl, whisk together the Chipotle olive oil, Serrano Honey vinegar, and that smoky sea salt.

2. Marinate the steaks.
Place the ribeyes in a large zip-top bag. Pour the marinade over the top, then seal the bag—pushing out as much air as you can. Give it a gentle shake to make sure the steaks are well-coated. Pop the bag in the fridge and let the steaks hang out for a few hours. (The longer they marinate, the bolder the flavor.)

3. Get that grill going.
Preheat your grill to medium heat. Once it’s nice and hot, take the steaks out of the marinade and let any excess drip off.

4. Grill to perfection.
Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4–5 minutes on the first side, until you see a golden-brown crust. Flip ‘em and finish cooking to your desired doneness:

  • Medium rare: 3–5 more minutes

  • Medium: 5–7 more minutes

  • Medium well: 8–10 more minutes

5. Rest and serve.
Let the steaks rest for a few minutes before slicing. This keeps them juicy and tender. Serve them up with your favorite sides—or go all in and pair them with Big Horn’s Smashed Citrus Potatoes and Grilled Shrimp Skewers for the ultimate cookout trio.
