This Ultra Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) sampler 4-pack is a great way to become familiar with our products. It includes samples of our currently available UP EVOOs from the latest harvest, as well as our tasty 18-year aged Traditional Dark Balsamic Vinegar to complete your pairings.
We source each harvest from partner farms across both the northern and southern hemispheres. The Ultra Premium certification requires strict independently-tested biochemistry standards in order to qualify – much of which your typical “extra virgin” olive oil will not qualify for!
What are biophenols? Phenols are a plant compound that are highly prized for their free radical scavenging and antioxidant properties. Our UP EVOOs are high in phenolic content:
- Mild UP EVOO average biophenols: 180’s – 250’s
- Medium UP EVOO average biophenols: 290’s – 350’s
- Robust UP EVOO average biophenols: 400+
The peppery finish in the Medium and Robust varietals is desirable! That’s a sign of the high phenolic content of our UP EVOOs. For the best experience when tasting, start with the Mild, then the Medium, then the Robust. This will allow you to best savor the independent flavors.
